Job Title: Principal Scientist I, Single Cell Biology

Location: Cambridge, MA

About the Job

Are you ready to shape the future of medicine? The race is on to speed up drug discovery and development to find answers for patients and their families. Your skills could be critical in helping our teams accelerate progress.

The Systems Biology Cluster, Precision Medicine and Computational Biology at Sanofi is focused on delivering first-in-class medicines to patients by deconstructing the mechanisms of disease into cellular building blocks and advancing first-in-class therapeutics for precision targeting of pathogenic cell types. We are seeking a highly competent, independent, proactive, driven and well-organized Principal Scientist to build on our present achievements and ensure our future success. They should have the ability to creatively lead projects and coordinate scientific activities, summarize and present results, and establish their relevance to key decision points in the drug discovery process. Opportunities to mentor interns, and junior scientists may be available.

We are an innovative global healthcare company with one purpose: to chase the miracles of science to improve people’s lives. We’re also a company where you can flourish and grow your career, with countless opportunities to explore, make connections with people, and stretch the limits of what you thought was possible. Ready to get started?

Main Responsibilities:

Generating hypotheses on how pathogenic cell type/state drive diseases (especially in immunoscience disease areas) by leveraging internal and external multi-omics and multi-modal data.

Applying established transcriptomic & proteomic methods to understand disease and drug mechanisms.

Using analytic tools and workflows to uncover the activity of disease-relevant genes and pathways in pathogenic cell types.

Leading projects involving internal experiment design and data analytics as well as outsourcing of established workflows and/or complex follow-up mechanistic assays (organoid, CRISPR, proteomics)

Collaborating with academic, industry, and internal partners on method development and disease-focused scientific studies.

Leading and contributing to high-profile presentations and publications.

About You

Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Computational Biology, Systems Biology, Immunology, or related discipline, with postdoctoral training and/or equivalent industry experience (exceptional candidates with the right background and skills may be considered right after Ph.D.)

Extensive hands-on experience and deep knowledge of scRNA, spatial transcriptomics/proteomics either experimental and/or analytical workflows.

Solid foundation in either multi-omics data analysis, or molecular/cellular biology, with experience in both being highly preferred. Expertise in ML/AI is a definite plus.

A track record of productivity, innovation and impact (publications, patents)

Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal and team skills; track record of success working collaboratively across disciplines.

Why Choose Us?
