We are looking for a Principal SEO Manager to join our growing Web Marketing team at Databricks. You will report directly to the Director, Web Product. This role sits within the broader Marketing Technology business unit and primarily supports our corporate website: www.databricks.com.

Who you are

You will take a leadership role and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including brand, demand gen, product marketing, growth, and analytics, to ensure our organic growth strategy aligns with overall business goals. You will think beyond traditional search and will be expected to stay at the forefront of emerging trends, including zero-click searches and AI search/chatbots to challenge the status quo and maintain a competitive edge. You embrace a full funnel mindset and know organic performance doesn’t stop with a keyword or click—it’s also about page experience, conversion, and unlocking business impact. You have a passion for evangelism and educating the organization to generate interest and a broad understanding of the program benefits.

The impact you will have:

Elevate our global organic growth approach by balancing traditional search engine optimization and emerging "search everywhere" strategies—enhancing our visibility across platforms like Google, YouTube, Perplexity, ChatGPT, and Reddit Rethink our content needs, how it’s formatted and utilized across all organic touch points, including search, video, social, peer review platforms and more Collaborate with stakeholders and conduct keyword research to optimize existing content and identify new opportunities Track performance and regularly share reports with recommendations based on data insights Oversee agencies, manage contractors and establish operations to build for massive scale Partner with regional teams to understand local business and content needs to scale globally Provide strategic direction on technical SEO areas, such as website architecture, page speed optimization, crawlability and structured data

What we look for:

Minimum of 10+ years of hands-on SEO experience with a proven track record of driving organic growth for B2B corporate websites (SaaS preferred) Strong knowledge of SEO best practices, tools, and analytics, with a deep understanding of search algorithms and ranking factors Proficient in SEO tools such as Google Search Console, Conductor, Ahrefs, Schema App, etc. Proven ability to manage agencies and contractors, while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to synthesize information and present to an executive audience Knowledge of international SEO to address local business needs Adept at managing and scaling multiple initiatives, resources, and processes Experience in a consumption based business model and/or growth background is highly desired

 

Pay Range Transparency

Databricks is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents base salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles.  Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Based on the factors above, Databricks utilizes the full width of the range. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above. Zone 1 Pay Range$203,700—$312,300 USD
