Northrop Grumman is seeking a Social Media and Digital Experience Strategist. The Social Media and Digital Experience Strategist is a critical member of a team that is tasked with positioning our brand positively in the marketplace with customers, stakeholders, industry partners and employees.
Partnering with a team of advertising specialists, content creators and other social strategists, this position will support social strategy, content development and digital executions across a range of paid and owned channels. This position will also support the development of new hybrid experiences that work across paid, owned, digital and in-person events to further bolster our reputation and connection to key audiences. The ideal candidate will have a firm grasp of current trends in social media, advertising and marketing as well as insight on developing effective content for paid social channels and emerging social platforms. The right candidate will have agency experience, a curious mindset and will relish the opportunity to be a key strategist on a high-performing, results-oriented team.
This position is based in Falls Church, VA. This is not a remote position. Teleworking arrangements are subject to change based on the needs of the business.
Responsibilities Include:
Strategy and Governance
In partnership with the social team, develop and maintain an integrated organic and paid strategy for our current social platforms, including LinkedIn, Instagram, X, Facebook and YouTube
Create, implement, monitor, and enforce comprehensive guidelines for strategic implementation and content development specified by channel, including unified voice and consistent use across all platforms
Be a champion user and administrator of social media publishing tool, Sprinklr
Provide training and presentations to internal groups as necessary on the topic of social media
Content Development
Work with enterprise communications teams to ensure content messaging aligns with corporate communications strategy, inclusive of determining themes, content calendars and key messages
Support and provide back up for the gatekeeping/integration process (edit/approve/reject) process across the enterprise
Develop content and collaborate with internal and external creative teams’ resources to develop visual creative, as needed.
Reporting
Regular evaluation of social media strategies and channels and identify what to continue to pursue or sunset
Analyze new social media trends and determine opportunities for adaption
Support monthly and annual cadence of social reporting alongside creative and media agencies to help measure effectiveness of campaigns and objectives and determine optimization opportunities
Audience & engagement
Identify, brainstorm and test new ways to engage a broader audience, inclusive of organic and paid strategies
Monitor social media channels during high profile situations, events and opportunities
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of related experience OR Master's degree with 3+ years of related experience
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Ability to collaborate with and influence individual contributors, communications teams, managers and executives across Communications organizations
Skilled in managing multiple projects/activities simultaneously and meeting deadlines
Experience across social media platforms and best practices across all other media forums
Ability to monitor social channels past regular business hours as necessary
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced understanding of social media landscape, trends, opportunities and best practices
Experience working in an advertising agency or within a large, matrixed organization
Experience working for or with military, defense, aerospace or technology companies
Skilled in coaching client representatives in effective communication with the public and with employees
Experience with social media recruiting efforts
Experience with Sprinklr or Sprout Social
Salary Range: $91,200.00 - $136,800.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
