Principal Software Engineer, Journeyman

We have an exciting opportunity to join us in supporting one of our valued customers as a Principal Software Engineer, Journeyman to work out of El Segundo, CA.

*Position is contingent upon award of contract*

Pay: $104,000 - $114,000

Essential Duties:

Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs application software. Conducts analysis and collaborates with subject matter experts in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for information storage, processing, presentation, manipulation, display, or reporting. End product may be special use, customized, or commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops autonomous services, desktop applications, web applications, scripts, and utility programs. Ensures software standards are met. Applies extensive technical expertise and has full knowledge of other related disciplines. Receives assignments in the form of objectives and establishes goals to meet objectives. Provides guidance to subordinates to achieve goals in accordance with established policies.  Establishes and recommends changes to policies, which affect subordinate organization(s). Develops technical solutions to complex problems, which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity. Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment.  Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

Required Qualifications:

Proficient in software engineering (Java, Python, C++, or other Object Oriented based languages), Kubernetes, AWS, Azure Cloud, Etc.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree with 9 years of relevant experience. Master’s degree with 7 years of relevant experience. PhD or Juris Doctorate degree with 4 years of relevant experience.

Required Clearance: Top Secret with SCI eligibility
