The Launch and Missile Defense Systems division within Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join the Template Kinematic Estimation Library (TKEL) team. Our domain provides rewarding work that contributes to the latest advancements being made in the missile defense industry. TKEL aims to provide a common and extensible mission data processing framework that accelerates new multi-int fusion programs. The position is located in Boulder, CO. Boulder is nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, and only 25 miles from downtown Denver.
Position Overview:
As a Principal Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, documentation, testing, deployment, and debugging of software applications. This includes researching, identifying, and implementing solutions to complex, multi-disciplinary software problems.
Essential Functions:
Work with algorithm engineers to design and implement algorithms that are both performant and extensible to new mission areas (e.g. OPIR, Radar) and platforms (e.g. x86, ARM, cloud)Integration of capabilities into new and existing programsSoftware development using Agile MethodologyUtilizing Jira to document bugs and enhancementsSoftware engineering support for multi-language (Modern C++, Python, and Java) and complex software systemsEnhance usability, performance, and maintainability of systems via analysis and bug fixesCoordinate, integrate, and resolve defects in conjunction with the test teamPreparation of software documentation and modelsSeeking candidates who find satisfaction in working on challenging and diverse assignments in collaborative settings across all levels.
Basic Qualifications:
