Principal Software Engineer
Provides technical advice on projects or tasks that are highly complex. Applies expertise to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans. Performs highly specialized technical tasks associated with cutting-edge technologies. Known as a Subject Matter Expert in the technical field or area. + Re-write a critical tasking interface , including the front end. + Develop tradecraft. + Rapidly prototype solutions. + Enable new accesses. + Work in a highly collaborative, integrated environment. + Applies expert functional knowledge and experience to significant business projects or processes. + Maintains expertise by in-depth involvement in the state-of-the-art research and technology development in the field. + Monitors and/or participates in industry user forums, working groups in area of expertise. + As needed, identifies the most qualified internal resources and/or contractor team to assist with tasks. Selects contractors, frames statements of work, and directs the work of the team to assure technical and financial milestones are met. + May lead a small team of capable technical staff members and advises/mentors developing technical staff, does not have direct management responsibility. + Coaches and mentors internal staff in associated technical areas of expertise. **Minimum Qualifications** + Bachelor's degree plus 8-years of relevant experience or Master's degree in plus 6-years of relevant experience. An Associate's degree plus 10-years of relevant experience or high school diploma/GED plus 12-years of relevant experience may be considered for individuals with in-depth experience that is clearly related to the position. + TS/SCI clearance with polygraph **Other Job Specific Skills** + Python knowledge. + Full stack development, with APIs. + Management of technologies, such as Elastic Search cluster, Docker containers. + Experience developing software in a Linux environment. + Experience with data flows and NoSQL databases. + Ability to work and apply creativity in a fast-paced environment. + Utilize creative problem-solving and communication--oral and written--skills, emphasizing the abilities to articulate, explain, and deliver technical concepts and issues to non-technical business leadership. **Compensation Ranges** Compensation ranges for ASM Research positions vary depending on multiple factors; including but not limited to, location, skill set, level of education, certifications, client requirements, contract-specific affordability, government clearance and investigation level, and years of experience.
