Principal Software Engineer
A Day in Your Life at MKS: As a Principal Software Engineer you will design, develop, and test software for our industry leading laser via drilling systems. Principal Responsibilities: + Assisting in defining and executing the software development plans and roadmap + Developing software programs to meet the requirements and constraints of the customer scope of work and exceed customer expectations + Working within and helping to lead a highly skilled team to accomplish all the deliverables throughout the Software Product Lifecycle (design, development, testing, and implementation) + Developing solutions to complex scientific problems + Relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. + A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. + Analyzes and determines system software test standards and procedures + Determines hardware compatibility and/or hardware design solutions Skills You Bring: Required: + Requires a Bachelor of Science degree in a technical field (Math, Physics, or Engineering) + 8+ years of related experience software engineering or similar + A deep understanding of languages like C++ and C# + Experience with all aspects of a Software Development Life Cycle (design, development, testing, and implementation) + A good understanding of SOLID principles and object-oriented development Preferred: + Experience in architecting, designing, and implementing control software for capital equipment. + At this level, graduate coursework may be preferred + Expertise in machine vision a plus Physical Demands & Working Conditions: + Must be able to remain in a stationary position as is typical for an office worker + This job operates in a professional office and laboratory environment + Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery Globally, our policy is to recruit individuals from wide and diverse backgrounds.
