Principal Software AI Engineer
The Role
Fidelity Investments is looking for a Principal, AI Engineer to join the Wealth Technology AI Enablement Team. The role will collaborate with a team of engineers to drive engineering excellence, AI enablement and, AI adoption, and the establishment of processes, and frameworks and governance to leverage Generative AI (GenAI) tools across the software engineering lifecycle. This role involves evaluating, integrating, and scaling GenAI solutions to enhance developer productivity, optimize testing, and streamline software delivery.
The Expertise You Have
Demonstrated expertise in leveraging GenAI tools (e.g., GH Copilot, Google Gemini, IBM Watson) for code generation, test automation, defect analysis, and CI/CD optimization.Collaboration with DevOps, SRE, and engineering teams to integrate AI-driven insights into CI/CD pipelines.Work with test automation frameworks (Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Karate) to implement AI-driven testing strategies.Proficiency in Python (must have), Java, or JavaScript for automation and AI integration.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive data-backed decision-making.Knowledge of LLMs, chatbot integrations, and AI-driven automation.Familiarity with AI governance, ethical AI considerations, and model interpretability.7+ years of experience in AI/ML implementation, automation engineering, or software development.8+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or 6+ years with a master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field. Equivalent experience demonstrated if no degree.Minimum 6 years of experience with architecting and implementing development pipelines (CI / CD)Note: Fidelity will not sponsor for this role
The Team
The Wealth Tech AI Enablement Team sits within the Engineering Efficiency (EE) chapter. The chapter consists of over 160 multi-stacked engineers with a passion around customer experience and with the engineering tool set to seek challenges including: Automated testing, performance testing, chaos testing, application cloud migration and management, CI / CD implementation, security testing and application development. The chapter’s support spans across all of Fidelity Wealth and provides domain specialists to squads who develop products with the highest customer quality, security, stability, and experience. This role will directly support the Fidelity Wealth Technology area within Fidelity Wealth which spans numerous teams and products. The primary focus of this role will be to support and utilize GenAI tools.
