This Principal Software Engineer will be the Tech Lead for the Branch Transactions squad. In addition to the basic requirements listed below, this Engineer will assist with any and all technology solutions in use at our branches. The squad specifically owns the ACE PRO application, various middleware tools that facilitate PC to device connectivity, etc.

The successful candidate will not only be an expert level java developer but will also be a true problem solver and have demonstrated prowess in working with end users and business leads to fix complex HW/SW issues.

GENERAL FUNCTION: Designs and implements technology and software solutions as a member of an agile squad. Being assigned to an agile squad means this role also participates in all agile ceremonies driving activities from architecture and design to delivery. Models software development best practices and leads communities of practice to continuously refine and document standards and best practices.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design and implement new features while improving quality of technical products and applicationsCreate and execute long term vision of technical products and applicationsAct as a technical expert and developer on an agile squadDrive the architecture of solutions across multiple services and applicationsDevelop software meeting code quality standards and metricsPractice test-driven developmentGuide communities of practice by mentoring developers, creating and enforcing standards, reviewing others code, and sharing knowledgeAchieve operational excellence by automating processes and writing maintainable, supportable, and testable codeMaintain effective partnerships with operations and engineering teams to drive service improvementRemain current on IT trends pertaining to their area of practiceAssist with problem resolution for end users and customersCreate and update operations procedures for daily routine management processesMaintain appropriate controls and documentation to ensure compliance of audit requirementsOther duties as assigned

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or comparable with 8+ years of experienceKnowledge of object-oriented and functional software designKnowledge of software development best practicesFamiliarity with RESTful networkingPrior experience with knowledge of Git and GitHubUnderstanding of Software Development MethodologiesUnderstanding of security best practicesStrong problem solving skillsStrong collaboration skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skills
