IT Concepts, Inc. (ITC) is seeking an experienced Principal Solution Architect for Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) to lead and support the development of ITSM-related functions to support our current customer base and business development activities. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in IT management with expertise in one or more management platforms. This role requires exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and building lasting relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
+ Design and develop scalable, efficient, and secure ITSM solutions that meet customer and ITC requirements.
+ Create detailed documentation for ITSM solutions, including graphical solution representations and written solution descriptions, and facilitate/support oral proposal delivery.
+ Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement in ITSM practices and technologies for internal and customer solution integration.
+ Identify risk areas in ITSM solutions and provide risk mitigation recommendations for implementation.
+ Lead technical teams in implementing ITSM solutions, ensuring alignment with best practices and business objectives.
+ Determine and facilitate relevant training for junior ITSM professionals within ITC and across customer accounts.
+ Provide mentorship opportunities for ITSM professionals across ITC.
+ Collaborate with business leaders, IT managers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and provide technical guidance.
+ Build relationships with partners, vendors, customers, and ITC teammates to enhance the effective delivery of solutions and implementation of ITSM requirements.
+ Develop and facilitate enforcing IT standards, policies, and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance.
+ Understand government compliance and reporting requirements as a part of developing solutions in the development environment.
+ Ensure proposal solutions comply with the requisite regulations and applicable industry standards.
+ Remain abreast of market trends and new technologies for possible integration into ITC solutions and proposals.
Location: This position will be performed remotely within the US and will support Eastern Time working hours. The candidate must be willing and able to travel per company and contract needs.
Requirements
+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience; a master’s degree is preferred.
+ Minimum of 10+ years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years in senior technical leadership roles such as Solution Architect, Chief Engineer, or Systems Engineer.
+ Proven success in driving large-scale enterprise implementations with a focus on complex system integration and operational optimization.
+ Experience with ITSM (e.g. ServiceNow) implementations integrated with upstream and downstream incident management, asset management, monitoring, and critical business function management.
+ Demonstrated ability to fill Subject Matter Expert (SME) and senior-level technical positions.
+ Strong background in systems engineering, overseeing the design, integration, and operational lifecycle of IT systems at scale.
+ Demonstrated experience training and mentoring junior solutions architects in developing and implementing creative solutions to drive value.
+ Advanced knowledge of multiple IT management systems and processes, including their operational workflows and interdependencies.
+ Expertise in designing and implementing complex systems architecture, ensuring scalability, security, and performance across enterprise platforms.
+ Ability to translate complex technical requirements into cohesive solutions that meet business and operational needs.
+ Deep understanding of systems engineering principles (e.g., lifecycle management, reliability engineering, systems integration) to optimize performance of ITSM systems.
+ Proven experience in operations engineering—ensuring that IT systems are reliable, resilient, and continuously optimized for performance and cost-effectiveness.
+ Deep understanding of cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their integration with ITSM, monitoring, logging and other enterprise systems/services.
+ Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and communicate effectively with senior leadership.
+ Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to clearly articulate complex engineering concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
+ Proficient in IT management platforms such as ServiceNow, BMC Remedy, and other enterprise solutions.
+ Proficient in IT Monitoring & AIOPS platforms such as Splunk, Dynatrace, and other enterprise solutions.
+ Ability to lead technical teams across multiple engineering disciplines, including systems engineers, operations engineers, and architects.
+ Strong project management capabilities, with hands-on experience in engineering project lifecycle management, including planning, execution, and ongoing optimization.
+ Leadership abilities with experience managing cross-functional technical teams, setting technical direction, and ensuring team accountability.
+ Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, deliver results under pressure, and meet deadlines in a dynamic, high-stakes environment.
+ In-depth understanding of ITSM frameworks (e.g., ITIL) and related tools, with demonstrated knowledge of incident management, service orchestration, and monitoring.
+ Experience in integrating ITAM/ITSM solutions with other enterprise systems and applications to enable seamless operational workflows within cloud and on-premise environments.
+ Expertise in security standards and best practices for IT systems and ITSM solutions, ensuring compliance and system integrity.
+ Knowledge of federal government contracting, including proposal processes, contingent and new award requirements, and the integration of IT solutions into federal environments.
+ Preferred Qualifications
+ Relevant certifications such as ITIL, TOGAF, CISSP, or specialized certifications in ITSM tools like ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist.
+ Demonstrated success in designing, implementing, and optimizing ITSM solutions within large, complex environments, with a focus on systems engineering and operations efficiency.
+ Hands-on experience in engineering optimization for large-scale systems that directly impact enterprise operations.
+ Proven success development and implementation of monitoring systems, business process automation, and data flow automation at the enterprise level.
