Northrop Grumman Space Systems is looking for a Lead Systems Engineer to support the Hellcat Program within the Launch Vehicles business unit in Chandler, Arizona.
The Lead Systems Engineer will
Serve as a Lead Systems Engineer for a small team of engineers (3-4) and will actively participate in a dynamic multi-disciplinary program team.
Lead or run special projects assigned by the program team and deliver results with minimal oversight or direction.
Use technical problem solving skills to identify system level requirements from product use cases balancing system level performance with sub-system capability.
Regularly Interface with other IPT Leads to communicate system level needs and track product development.
Regular interface with program management, engineering staff and external customers is expected.
Creates and modifies management tracking reports for a variety of systems engineering performance parameters, resource metrics and design margins.
Support proposal-writing efforts for Systems Engineering on a project.
Manages aspects of system design, analyses, interface verification, testing, minor failure/anomaly resolution or mission operations.
Coordinates and Leads preparation and presentation of materials for Technical Reviews
Supports Flight Test activities in the office and in the field.
Performs cost estimates and project planning as a Cost Account Manager (CAM).
This position maybe offered at the Principal Engineer Systems Level 3 or the Sr. Principal Engineer Systems Level 4.
Basic Qualifications:
If offered at the Principal Engineer Systems Level 3 requires:
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of experience, or a PhD and 1 year of experience.
U.S. Citizenship is required
Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope
Full Secret clearance is required for this position, candidate will be required to work daily in SCIF, remote or hybrid work is not available.
Demonstrated Systems Engineering experience
Experience working in a highly dynamic product development environment
Strong oral and written communication skill
Ability to travel is required (10%)
If offered at the Sr. Principal Engineer Systems Level 4 requires:
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 8 years of related experience or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years of experience, or a PhD and 4 years of experience.
U.S. Citizenship is required
Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope
Full Secret clearance is required for this position, candidate will be required to work daily in SCIF, remote or hybrid work is not available.

Experience with Agile and Scrum

Salary Range: $95,300.00 - $142,900.00Salary Range 2: $118,600.00 - $178,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
