Northrop Grumman is seeking a tax accountant to join our team in Falls Church, VA.

Position Summary/Responsibilities (Level 3):
Assist in preparing the company’s federal and state(s) research and development tax credit and foreign derived intangible income deduction according to the prescribed laws and regulations. Assist the provision team by providing them research and development tax credit and foreign derived intangible income deduction on a quarterly basis for financial statement purposes, along with FIN 48 analysis and calculations. Assist preparing the research and development tax credit and foreign derived intangible income deduction for the company’s annual operating plan. Assists the federal and state controversy teams to support the federal and state research and development tax credits and foreign derived intangible income deductions claimed. Assist with researching tax technical issues and prepare modeling for various tax planning ideas, including any accounting method changes.Position Summary/Responsibilities (Level 4):
Prepare the company’s federal and state(s) research and development tax credit and foreign derived intangible income deduction according to the prescribed laws and regulations. Prepare input from tax planning team for the provision team; the input is primarily calculations on research and development tax credit and foreign derived intangible income deduction on a quarterly basis for financial statement purposes, along with FIN 48 analysis and calculations. Prepare the research and development tax credit and foreign derived intangible income deduction as an input from the tax planning team for the company’s annual operating plan. Work with the federal and state controversy teams to support the federal and state audits by drafting responses to Information Document Requests relating to research and development tax credits and foreign derived intangible income deductions claimed. Perform tax research and draft tax research memoranda documenting tax technical issues and conclusionsPrepare modeling and quantitative analysis for various tax planning ideas, including any accounting method changesCoordinate special projects with corporate and sector personnelBasic Qualifications (Level 3):
Bachelors Degree and 5 years of experience, or a Masters Degree and 3 years of experience.Each year of Public Accounting and/or investment banking experience, IF directly relevant, may count for an additional year of experienceCertified Public Accountant License (CPA) – will count as 2 years of experience and Masters with CPA - 3 years of experienceProficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and WordFamiliar with using software like SAP, HFM, or business warehouseBasic Qualifications (Level 4):
Bachelors Degree and 9 years of experience, or a Masters Degree and 7 years of experience.Each year of Public Accounting and/or investment banking experience, IF directly relevant, may count for an additional year of experienceCertified Public Accountant License (CPA) – will count as 2 years of experience and Masters with CPA - 3 years of experienceProficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and WordFamiliar with using software like SAP, HFM, or business warehousePreferred Qualifications (Level 3 & 4):
CPA and BA or MA in accounting preferred, but not a mustProficient with CorpTax, software SAP, HFM, and business warehouseSalary Range: $88,700.00 - $133,100.00Salary Range 2: $0.00 - $0.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
