The Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) department is seeking Custom Hardware Change Control Board (CCB) Systems Engineers to join our team and pioneer new approaches, design and implement technologies for a computer integrated manufacturing system. You’ll work in a fast-paced team environment alongside physicists, design engineers, and superconducting foundry engineers to make these technologies a reality while providing solid systems engineering rigor and establishing foundational change management practices.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Assist our Research and Development teams to implement and manage their Change Control Boards (CCB), with the goal of becoming self-governing.Support test and test development activities for RQL logic research and development.Collaborative efforts with peers and other engineering disciplines in the planning, design, prototyping, and integration of complex mixed signal systemsDesign electronic circuits for use in custom electronic test equipment systems used in the measurement of cryogenic cooled superconducting devicesSome experience with discrete circuit design of amplifiers from 10MHz to 10GHzExperience with microprocessors that integrate low noise analog signal interfacesFamiliar with design of instrumentation/low noise signaling, ADC, DAC and passive filters.Testing procedures for the characterization and validation of RQL device function.

This position requires work on site located at our Advanced Technology Lab (ATL) in Linthicum/ Annapolis Junction, MD.

 This requisition may be filled as a Principal Custom Hardware CCB Systems Engineer or Senior Principal Custom Hardware CCB Systems Engineer.


Basic Qualifications for Principal Custom Hardware CCB Systems Engineer: 

Bachelor's Degree or higher in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a similar technical discipline with 5 years of related experience or MS with 3 years of related experience, or PhD in a STEM discipline with 1 years of related experience.Proficient in the use of at least one of the following programing languages; MATLAB, Python, C, or C++.Practical knowledge of design that includes: signal integrity, low noise systems, troubleshooting skills, microcontrollers, operational amplifier, integration, passive/active filtering, discrete circuits etc.Electronic circuit design simulation experience using PSpice or equivalentLead system engineering activities: trade studies, analysis of alternatives and requirement decomposition/allocation.This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen.This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with poly clearance per business requirements.

Bachelor's Degree or higher in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a similar technical discipline with 8 years of related experience or MS with 6 years of related experience, or PhD in a STEM discipline with 4 years of related experience.Proficient in the use of at least one of the following programing languages; MATLAB, Python, C, or C++.Practical knowledge of design that includes: signal integrity, low noise systems, troubleshooting skills, microcontrollers, operational amplifier, integration, passive/active filtering, discrete circuits etc.Electronic circuit design simulation experience using PSpice or equivalentLead system engineering activities: trade studies, analysis of alternatives and requirement decomposition/allocation.Experience leading projects with the ability to communicate effectively to team members both written and verbally.This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen.This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with poly clearance per business requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

Salary Range: $105,400.00 - $158,000.00Salary Range 2: $131,100.00 - $196,700.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
