About our local organization:  You'll be joining our Aurora Software and Controls Department which has 200+ Software Engineers, DevOps Engineers, Systems Administrators, Database Administrators, and Network Engineers from entry-level to the most senior chief engineers and architects. This engineering organization supports numerous programs within the Payload and Ground Systems organization. We have plenty of opportunity for career advancement into higher level technical roles or leadership positions. About the program: As a Network Engineer, you’ll be joining an existing on-contract classified program called Broadside that is supporting a set of critical national security missions and customers. The Northrop Grumman (NG) program team of ~ 30 is based in Aurora, CO and includes some staff in Chantilly, VA. This is a sub-contract to a Prime customer with 300+ team members.

The Broadside program is looking for experienced Network Engineering candidates to provide technical support and engineering for WAN/LAN development and maintenance. The work involves installs, design, configurations, monitoring, and maintenance of network hardware and software to ensure network availability to system users. You may work alongside other network support and client server specialists to plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures. You’ll provide support to projects involving networks, by helping them connect to the network and troubleshooting issues they may have. You will develop and implement methodologies for analysis, installation and support of the network.

Staff in our Principal (T03) and Senior Principal (T04) levels are expected to quickly gain mission and system domain knowledge coupling that with prior experience to mentor and influence others as well as contribute to advancing the program’s objectives and meeting customer expectations. Principal Network Engineer (T03) / Sr. Principal Network Engineer (T04)

Basic Qualifications:

T03: Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) degree with 6 years of Network Engineering experience; or Master's degree with 4 years of Network Engineering experience for Level 3 Principal Network Engineer placementT04: Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) with 12 years of Network Engineering experience; or Master's degree with 10 years of Network Engineering experience for Level 4 Senior Principal Network Engineer placementActive/current Top Secret/SCI clearance with adjudicated Polygraph at time of applicationActive/current CompTIA Security+ certification or equivalent 8570 certificationAt least 4 years of Network Engineering experience covering Switching, Routing, Firewalls, Cabling, and Hardware configuration/installation with CISCO and/or Juniper equipment

Preferred Qualifications:At least 6 years of Network Engineering experience covering Switching, Routing, Firewalls, Cabling, and Hardware configuration/installation with CISCO and/or Juniper equipment demonstrating a strong proficiencyExperience working with worldwide enterprise networksExperience working with classified level enterprise networksAbility to effectively communicate and present to program management and customersAbility to effectively write technical documentationExperience sharing knowledge, mentoring, and working in a collaborative environmentStrong analytical, problem-solving, testing, and troubleshooting skillsAbility to lift equipment weighing up to 40 pounds (yet such is in-frequent)Ability to support after hours and on weekends as needed (yet such is in-frequent)

Salary Range: $100,300.00 - $150,500.00Salary Range 2: $124,900.00 - $187,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
