Role description:
Arcadis seeks a Principal Stormwater Engineer to join our growing team in either Richmond, Arlington, or Virgina Beach, Virginia! This is a lead role supporting the development of stormwater opportunities in the Upper Mid-Atlantic region.
This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated professional to contribute and grow our business in the Upper Mid-Atlantic. In this position, you will collaborate with our Technical Experts to successfully execute projects and achieve our clients’ objectives while providing excellent client services.

Role accountabilities:
As a Principal Stormwater Engineer you will lead and support the development of stormwater/green infrastructure, conveyance (pipelines and pumping facilities), and MS4 compliance support projects.
Other responsibilities include;
Managing the planning, design, and construction administration of projects to ensure compliance with contracts, drawings, specifications, codes, statutes, rules, and regulations, as well as Arcadis quality and safety practices. Communicate with clients, establishing goals and objectives for project teams, and scheduling and coordinating resources to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the performance expectations of the client. Provide technical expertise on multi-disciplined projects as a design leader, QA/QC reviewer or technical advisor. Supervise and support the work of others while mentoring junior level engineers and technical staff. Work directly with clients to determine needs and deliver solutions and lead the growth of client relationships with target clients. Lead/Support teams in the marketing and proposal phases of projects including preparation of winning proposals and successful presentations, as well as developing scopes of work and budgets for various water, wastewater, and stormwater projects. Some travel will be required for project site visits, client meetings, safety audits, general planning purposes or to oversee construction activities, depending on project staffing needs.Qualifications & Experience:
Required Qualifications
10 or more years’ experience. Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, Mechanical Engineering or related. P.E. License or ability to acquire PE Licensure in Virginia, Washington DC, and Maryland within 6 months.Key Skills/Attributes
Excellent technical engineering skills. Strong, clear, and concise written and oral communication skills. Leads teams and collaborates with clients. Excellent technical writing skills. Client relationships/experience with the local municipalities.Preferred Qualifications
12 or more years’ experience. Project Management experience on municipal water, wastewater, or stormwater projects of various sizes. Master's in Civil, Environmental, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.Why Arcadis?

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $116,000 - $200,000/year. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project, and location.
