The CSCP Organization is responsible for traditional supply chain functions such as Plan, Source, Make, Deliver, but also manages supportability (spares), decommissioning and disposition of Data center assets worldwide. We deliver the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, Skype, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform for external customers. Our infrastructure is comprised of a large global portfolio of more than 200 datacenters supporting services for more than 1 billion customers in over 90 countries worldwide.
The Strategy and Transformation team is looking for a Principal-level Engineer or Product Owner in the role of Supply Chain Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping and optimizing our supply chain through strategic architectural planning and deep analysis. This role involves facilitating architecture analysis, documenting key decisions, and maintaining architecture artifacts. The Supply Chain Architect will collaborate with Transformation programs to ensure alignment of designs to future state goals, maintain a robust reference architecture, and drive Architecture Review Board assessments to validate critical decisions.

1. Facilitate Architecture Analysis: - Conduct in-depth analysis of the current and future supply chain architecture. - Identify areas for improvement and optimization to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. - Publish key designs, patterns and practices as guardrails for designs
2. Document Significant Decisions: - Document and communicate key architectural decisions. - Maintain a comprehensive record of design choices and their implications.
3. Maintain Architecture Artifacts: - Ensure that architectural artifacts, including models, diagrams and documentation, are up-to-date. - Provide clear and accessible documentation for reference by cross-functional teams.
4. Alignment with Transformation Programs: - Collaborate with Transformation programs to ensure that architectural designs align with broader organizational goals and objectives. - Act as a liaison between supply chain initiatives and transformational efforts.
5. Maintain Reference Architecture: - Develop and maintain a robust reference architecture for the supply chain domain. - Ensure that the reference architecture aligns with industry best practices and standards.
6. Drive Architecture Review Board Reviews: - Organize and lead Architecture Review Board reviews to assess and affirm key architectural decisions. - Provide recommendations for improvements and optimizations based on review outcomes.
7. Focus Areas - Decom, Spares, Returns: - Lead initiatives focused on e2e Spares and Returns supply chain processes, Decom planning and execution. - Enhance mechanisms to manage the e2e spares supply chain. - Drive innovation in digital twin, simulation, and AI applications for spares supply chain optimization.
8. Key Integrations with Partner Organizations and New Business Models: - Collaborate with key partners to integrate supply chain processes seamlessly, coordinating architectures across key integrations, standards, patterns, data models. - Identify opportunities for strategic partnerships and 1st party integrations to enhance overall supply chain capabilities and showcase architectures. - Assist teams with architecture support as we define and mature new business models.
**Requirements:** -
Proven experience of 10+ years as a Supply Chain Architect or in a similar role (Supply Chain SWE, Supply Chain Product Owner).
- Strong knowledge of supply chain processes, technologies, and industry best practices. - Proficiency in Warranty and Returns processes, Cross-Border transactions and Global Governance and Regulations, Partner Eco-system Collaboration, digital twin, simulation, and AI applications.
- Excellent trust-building, cross-organizational communication and collaboration skills.

**Qualifications**
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science, information systems, supply chain operations or related fields with overall 16+ years of experience • 10+ years of experience designing and implementing systems including custom and 3rd party solutions (such as SAP, Dynamics 365, or other ERP) • 5+ years of supply chain experience • Experience with 3rd party Supply Chain solutions such as SAP and Dynamics 365 Supply Chain experience

+ Ability to engage with all levels of software engineers, business partners as well as senior leadership

+ Ability to engage w/ data scientists and operations researchers
+ Exceptional ability in defining and diagraming product architecture and strategy
+ Strong background in Enterprise Architecture best practices, methodologies and documentation processes
+ Familiarity with SAP (ECC, IBP, Ariba, MDG) solutions is a plus
+ Familiarity with Blockchain/Web3 solutions is a plus
+ Familiarity with Warranty and Returns compliance and global regulations
+ MBA Preferred
