Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Principal Systems Administrator – X-Lab ACEOPS Administrator (24-467) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located at Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO

Position Overview:

The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, to see the battle develop collectively, and to dynamically manage designated networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability that enables an optimized response to threats of all ranges in all phases of flight. C2BMC is the force multiplier that globally and regionally networks integrate, synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations to optimize performance. C2BMC is integral to all system ground and flight tests, which verify and exercise all current and future missile defense system capabilities.

Essential Functions:

Operate, maintain and manage Linux-based systems supporting a software development environment. Responsible for the overall day-to-day operations of the Windows/Linux environment and is responsible for backup and recovery (to include disaster recovery) of system data.Ensure all data is being backed up on a regular basisEnsure backup system is functioning correctly and periodically test the backup system by restoring filesRespond appropriately to any system security/virus incident discoveredInstall, configure, monitor, manage and maintain all Linux based servers • Create and maintain Linux server documentationCreate and maintain Linux system administration processes and proceduresInstall, configure, manage and maintain Linux server based applicationsEnsure Linux based systems have the appropriate patches installed; including but not limited to, security, applications and OSEnsure Linux based systems are running current versions of antivirus software with current virus definition filesCreate, manage and maintain security groupsCreate, manage and maintain user accountsMonitor, manage and maintain storage systems and devicesCreate and maintain Windows/Linux server imagesRecommend system enhancements, including but not limited to, servers, applications, storage, processes and proceduresRecommend when additional system resources are required or when existing resources should be retiredEnsure all appropriate asset management functions are completed as requiredEnsure all Linux servers are configured to comply with all appropriate security policies â

Basic Qualifications:

An active Secret clearance is required to start with the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.6 years' experience with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics or a related field; 4 years' experience with a master’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics or a related field; or 10 years' experience in lieu of a degreeDoD 8140 certification at IAT - Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA) is required.Knowledge of the Linux environment and experience with Linux administrationSystem Security ImplementationsLinux shell scripting Ansible playbook development and management or other competing automation solutionsSecurity-Enhanced (SE) Linux and Red Hat repository administrationExperience applying containers (Docker) and use of container orchestration (Kubernetes)Experience with system hardening using industry best practices Additional SkillsMust have technical skills supporting a varied and diverse environment including enterprise server setup, deployment and maintenanceUnderstanding of configuration managed Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS)Understanding of what IT's role is in Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) and how it can be applied to PaaS

Salary Range: $91,200.00 - $136,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
