Northrop Grumman Aeronautics System is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer (Technical Change Integrator) on the Triton program in San Diego, CA.  The successful candidate will act as a Project Engineer for various engineering changes and guide Responsible Engineers through the change process with a focus on technical execution and affordability. They will bring enthusiasm and an innovative mindset focused on technical and process execution including streamlining where necessary.

This role requires a minimum on-site commitment of two days per week at the discretion of the Program Lead with a preference for full-time on-site presence.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THIS ROLE INCLUDE:

•   Oversee technical, cost and schedule performance for complex technical projects for a wide range of systems and technologies.

•   Drive the development of technical solutions, lead the effort with Responsible Engineers (REs) to prepare the change request packages and lead the effort from approval to completion.

•   Ensure all change requests meet technical requirements to progress through the change management lifecycle to include presentations at Enterprise Technical Change Boards.

•   Coordinate gathering of impacts and estimates for the proposal.

•   Manage execution of projects and technical tasks to completion and provide regular status updates to leadership.

•   Coordinate with team and program leadership to continually evaluate tools and processes used in Change Management and suggest/implement opportunities for improvement.

•   Facilitate Programmatic Change Boards (e.g. TRB, CCB1/2/3/4, and JCCB) as needed.

•   Update Teamcenter Enterprise and/or JIRA CR Tracker maintaining CR metadata.

•   Candidate should have good working knowledge of engineering documentation process(s), MS Office suite and the Atlassian toolset (JIRA and Confluence).

•   Candidate should also have strong communication and collaboration skills demonstrated in their previous work history.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in STEM field (Science, Technical, Engineering and Mathematics) and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; 3 years with a Master's degree in STEM; 1 years with PhD in STEMActive DoD Secret clearanceMust have ability to obtain and maintain Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Teamcenter, JIRA proficiency.Experience in Systems and Mission Systems Engineering or Systems Integration and Test.Experience in Engineering Change Management and understanding of Change Management principles.Familiarity with engineering drawings and the engineering drawing release process, including Manufacturing Engineering principles.Familiarity with uncrewed systems and engineering associated with uncrewed designs.

Salary Range: $110,300.00 - $165,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
