Job Title:Principal Technical Leader, Procurement

Location:Charlotte, NC, Remote/Home Based

Job Summary and Description:

This position will be responsible for research involving development of products that support nuclear procurement and processes used to control design, manage obsolescence, and ensure high quality and reliability of procured items. This position plans, designs, and controls the progress of complex project work within the technical department to meet member/client objectives; prepares and presents research reports.

Manages small to medium level projects without direct people management responsibilities.

Assumes responsibility for highly specialized technical objectives or problems where the relationships between cause and effect are difficult to establish and little or no precedence exists, and the use of creative imaginative thinking is required.

Influences project teams in the engineering aspects of the technical work.

Provides input into configuration management and documentation for engineering projects.

Leads proposal efforts and new promotional work.

Maintains familiarity with the progress and problems in assigned technical areas.

Prepares proposals, technical publications, and delivers presentations.

Leads domestic and international and international technical networks with manufacturers, consultants, academia, and research organizations.

Works independently on technical activities without direct supervision

The ideal candidate:

Can manage complex projects, work with limited supervision, and exercise judgement.

10 or more years of experience in nuclear design and/or procurement engineering is required as well as familiarity with the techniques used to successfully procure high-quality spare and replacement items and assure their readiness and reliability.

Detailed working knowledge of nuclear regulations, standards, and EPRI procurement guidance documents related to safety classification, procurement and receipt of items, commercial grade dedication

Experience performing, reviewing, and approving equivalency evaluations, commercial grade dedication technical evaluation and acceptance plans, reverse-engineering, and safety classification

Ability to maintain up-to-date knowledge and understanding of applicable codes, standards, regulatory requirements and guidance (for example ASME, ANSI, ASTM, IEEE, IEC, and so forth)

Ability to interface and maintain working relationships with domestic and international members involved in engineering (Procurement, Design, System, etc), supply chain, supplier quality, regulatory affairs, and manufacturing.

Familiarity or experience with procurement and technical evaluation of digital systems and equipment

Familiarity or experience with use of advanced manufacturing methods to facilitate acquisition of replacement items

Ability to identify opportunities available to support domestic and international EPRI members

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field or equivalent experience required.

The salary range for this position is $153,900 USD to $172,200 USD annually.

This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on various factors, including without limitation applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

This role is eligible to participate in EPRI’s annual incentive program. The amount of incentive varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the plan.

This role is eligible to participate in EPRI’s standard employee benefit programs, which currently include the following: medical, dental, vision, 401k, STD/LTD and paid family leave, life and accident insurance, paid time off (flexible vacation, sick leave, and holiday pay).
