Principal Technical Program Manager, Advertising
Description Amazon Ads Forecasting team builds machine learning solutions that forecast future prospects for both publishers and advertisers using historical data sets. Amazon’s Advertising technology team builds the technology infrastructure and ad serving systems to manage billions of advertising queries every day. The result is better quality advertising for publishers and more relevant ads for customers. Our infrastructure supports millions of Internet users and handles billions of queries per day, all delivered in milliseconds. Our data platform processes massive data sets to develop business intelligence and analytics that are critical for the efficiency and profitability of our advertising business. The Forecasting team builds end-to-end solutions including data pipelines, machine learning models, large scale index data structures, software services and data visualizations and analytics platforms. Qualified candidates would define projects and features, collect requirements, write detailed functional and test specifications, drive large cross functional projects and schedules, and deliver complex projects with accurate results at high scale. In this role, you will: - Scope out, plan and execute large scale projects. - Drive alignments, resolve roadblocks and get through dependencies needed to progress. - Lead cross-team initiatives, work closely with product, engineering and data science teams. - Present status, progress, risks and team’s strategy effectively and comfortable with organizational leadership and business stakeholders. Basic Qualifications - 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience - 7+ years of technical product or program management experience - 5+ years of software development experience - Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems - Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules - Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition Preferred Qualifications - 8+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience - Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $159,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $275,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
