In the role of Principal Technology Architect, you will interface with key stakeholders and apply your technical proficiency across different stages of the Software Development Life Cycle including Requirements Elicitation, Application Architecture definition and Design. You will play an important role in creating the high level design artifacts. You will also deliver high quality code deliverables for a module, lead validation for all types of testing and support activities related to implementation, transition and warranty. Location for this position is San Francisco, CA. This position may require relocation to other locations. Candidate must be open to travel based on business need.
Qualifications
Basic
• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
• At least 13 years of experience with Information Technology.
Purpose of the Role
Define, plan and develop services, solutions, frameworks, IPs etc.; position, evangelize and present offerings to customers; provide technology consultancy (Technology Consulting work which fulfills consulting rates) and guide
competency development WITH the objective of strengthening the service offerings, providing technology differentiation and increasing business WITHIN defined domain or technologies and in compliance with guidelines,
policies and norms of Client.
Areas of Responsibility:
GTM Solutions Anchoring
• Create solution/ service roadmap, define solutions offerings, create capability gap analysis on specific technology areas to provide critical inputs for developing business plans.
• Review solution roadmap with unit management to get sponsorship and generate significant revenues for the Practice/Unit.
• Create joint go-to-market models with Alliance partners to create service/ solution offering and provide end-end solutions to increase business.
• Provide direction to specific Solution development, identify and create patentable artifacts/ IP.
• Evangelize solutions with customer facing sales team and help contextualize solution proposition to specific customer needs and conduct workshops with senior stakeholders in customer organization.
Marketing and Branding
• Drive the thought leadership, guide and author papers.
• Create solution / technology / service line PoV, present PoV at internal / external forums to establish thought leadership and improve Client positioning in related domain/technology area.
Prospecting & Pursuits
• Identify new business opportunities in accounts, analyze technology trends and foster relationships with CXOs and senior executives to position, evangelize and present offerings to customers.
• Review and work with sales teams to identify business opportunities, create RFP responses for large-scale opportunities, create PoV and architect / validate complex technical solutions.
• Facilitate technical discussions with customer technology stakeholders (CXOs) to provide technical differentiation and explore new possibilities in the relationship.
• Anchor proactive PoVs to create thought leaderships in customer’s transformational initiatives and help them meet their business goals.
Technology Consulting
• Participate in discussions to understand and analyze the problems faced by the customer.
• Conduct workshops with key stakeholders to understand pain areas and review As-IS analysis of technology landscape.
• Anchor solution evaluation for specific focus areas, assist consultants in identifying alternatives, review and approve the solution options.
• Lead the evaluation team and govern the integrated outcomes from different teams/groups working on technology-driven transformation programs (e.g. large enterprise-level programs).
• Manage tie-ups with third party vendors, qualify the recommendations and conduct client workshops for large and complex engagements to provide best-fit solutions.
• Develop roadmap for the strategic initiatives considering customer’s organization to ensure smooth change management towards to-be state.
Enterprise Architecture
• Review architecture, define framework (for enterprise/ product / technology / information/ solution) and validate NFR for complex architectural solutions.
• Review NFR compliance to ensure optimal large-scale solution.
• Provide inputs for technology risk management in large / high risk engagements.
People Management
• Create competency enhancement strategy in technical area, conduct focused recruitment, evaluate and create Technical Certification for the team.
• Conduct appraisals for the direct reports, mentors and manage career aspirations of reportees to develop new competencies and enhance existing competencies.
• Monitor and propagate effective usage and creation of reusable frameworks and artifacts to facilitate Knowledge Management and enhance organizational technical capability.
Knowledge:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Master’s in Computers.
• Should have minimum 13 years of experience in DWBI set ups.
• Should have good knowledge of Healthcare/Life Sciences domain.
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Should have experience in building large scale data warehouses, development/migration to Netezza.
• Should be hands on in Netezza with strong understanding of architecture and underlying data distribution.
• Should have worked on the latest Netezza Puredata System
• Strong knowledge of ELT and in-database processing, Workload management (WLM)
• Strong understanding of duplicate processing, key generation techniques, fast/multi load etc.
• Hands on experience with NZLOAD, NZADMIN and related tools
• Excellent skills in navigating Unix OS, shell scripting and Perl a plus.
• Experience with ETL tools with experience in large scale migration, data movement.
• Strong knowledge on Reporting standards, best practices and frameworks.
• Strong knowledge on Data Warehouse project constraints, technical risks, and business user’s viewpoints.
• Strong knowledge on Data Governance and Stewardship.
• Strong knowledge on Ad-hoc\OLAP reporting along with understanding of advanced data analytics.
• Technology change management, PLC knowledge, solution definition methods, solution deployment and rollout methods
