**Key Responsibilities:**
The Principal - UA for Business Events supports the strategic planning and execution of highly visible United for Business events. The position requires event planning expertise including sourcing, contract negotiation, logistics management and detailed execution. The Principal will support the Senior Manager in planning and implementing large customer and internal events.
+ Detailed record keeping, event tracking, and scheduling. Adhere to strict budget. Responsible for post-event reconciliation.
+ Create event execution plan for onsite team with timelines, assignments, set up notes, meeting locations, etc. Provide on-site support to ensure successful meeting execution. Handle all logistical event components including hotel specs, rooming lists, registration, attendee lists, audio visual, transportation, etc.
+ Site and source various venues; provide recommendation to internal partners.
+ Serve as single point of contact for all event collaborators (internal and external teams or vendors). Review, manage, and negotiate contracts with external vendors (production, event decor, food & beverage, hotels, transportation, entertainment, AV, special supplies/materials).
+ Draft event email communications.
**Note:** This position provides for a hybrid work arrangement with in-office requirements up to 50% of the time in Chicago, IL. This position will also be expected to travel up to 30% of the time.

**Qualifications**
**What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):**
+ Bachelor's degree
+ 4+ years of experience in event management
+ Extensive knowledge in contracting, organizing and managing various aspects of complex events including but not limited to venue sourcing, registration management, event communications, hotel room blocks and more
+ Outstanding organizational skills
+ Excellent communicator (both written and verbal)
+ Comfortable interacting with senior level leadership
+ Ability to work independently, under tight deadlines
+ A willingness to learn and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
+ Strong working knowledge of Word, Excel, Cvent/Aventri
+ Project management skills: ability to understand scope, create timelines, detailed event plans, budgets and hit key deadlines
+ Team player
+ Ability to travel up to 30% of the time
+ Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
+ Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
+ Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

The base pay range for this role is $99,750.00 to $135,960.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
