Amazon is seeking a Principal Workplace Threat Manager (Principal Security Industry Specialist) to join our Global Security Risk & Resilience, People Risk team. This strategic individual contributor role focuses on leading complex global threat management initiatives, developing innovative risk frameworks, and driving program excellence across our worldwide operations. The Principal Workplace Threat Manager will design and implement strategic threat assessment methodologies, lead high-impact global programs, and provide thought leadership that shapes how we protect Amazon's workforce globally. The successful candidate is a recognized expert in threat management who combines deep technical expertise with strategic program leadership capabilities. They must demonstrate exceptional influence skills, ability to drive global initiatives, and a proven track record of developing innovative solutions to complex security challenges at scale. Key job responsibilities Program Leadership & Innovation: - Design and implement global threat management strategies and frameworks that scale across regions - Lead strategic initiatives that enhance global program effectiveness and drive operational excellence - Develop innovative approaches to threat assessment and risk mitigation methodologies - Create and implement global best practices for threat management programs Technical Expertise & Risk Management: - Serve as principal subject matter expert for complex threat assessments and mitigation strategies - Lead development of global risk frameworks and threat evaluation methodologies - Drive innovation in threat identification, reporting, and management approaches - Provide strategic guidance on critical incident response and threat management Strategic Influence & Partnership: - Build and maintain strategic partnerships with key stakeholders globally - Influence senior leadership on program strategy and risk mitigation approaches - Drive collaboration across security, HR, legal, and other key stakeholder groups - Travel up to 25% of the time Program Excellence & Impact: - Design and implement mechanisms to measure program effectiveness and drive improvements - Lead analysis of global threat trends and develop strategic recommendations - Drive continuous improvement in threat assessment and management - Create scalable solutions that enhance global program capabilities A day in the life Amazon offers a full range of benefits that support you and eligible family members, including domestic partners and their children. About the team Our People Risk team within Global Security Risk & Resilience works to protect Amazon's workforce through proactive risk management and strategic security solutions. We partner closely with global security teams, human resources, operations, and other stakeholders to create and maintain a safe, secure work environment for our employees worldwide. Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree - 7+ years of behavioral threat assessment and violence management experience - Expertise in Threat Management, Corporate Investigations, or related field - Experience conducting complex investigations and threat assessments - Demonstrated success leading global security or risk management programs - Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive program and process improvements Preferred Qualifications - Advanced degree in psychology, criminology, security management, or related field - Certified Threat Manager (CTM), Certified Protection Professional (CPP), or related certifications - 12+ years of behavioral threat assessment and violence management experience - Proven experience developing and implementing global security programs - Strong understanding of global security practices and cultural considerations - Excellence in data analysis and program metrics development - Project/program management certifications - Proven written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to influence senior leadership - Additional language capabilities Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $127,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $273,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
