Principle Engineer (hybrid) Atlanta, GA System One is currently seeking a Principle Engineer (hybrid) on a 3 year contract position located in Atlanta, GA. Principle Engineer Responsibilities: + Responsible for leading and managing projects that create and implement new GIS (Geographic information Systems) processes to support Transmission and Large Pipeline business units. + This role will involve working closely with various business units, stakeholders, and technical teams to ensure that GIS processes are effectively integrated and optimized for operational excellence. + Lead and manage Large Pipeline related GIS projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget and quality standards. + Collaborate with Transmission and Large Pipeline Operating business units to understand their data requirements and operational needs. + Develop and implement new GIS processes to support the integration and management of Transmission and Large Pipeline data. + Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including IT, engineering, and operations, to ensure seamless incorporation of GIS processes. + Create detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and risk management strategies. + Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders, highlighting any issues or changes in scope. + Facilitate training sessions and workshops for end-users to ensure effective utilization of new GIS processes and tools. + Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in GIS and pipeline operations. + Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies related to GIS data management and pipeline operations. Principle Engineer Requirements: + 5-10 years of related experience + An accredited bachelor’s degree in engineering. + Master's degree is a plus. + Professional engineering license is a plus. + Experience in Utility or Pipeline Industry is required. + Proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget. + Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. + Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders. + Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies + Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
