Print Production Designer

The Print Production Designer is responsible for creating visually appealing designs for print media, specifically tailored to plastic printing, ensuring all materials meet brand standards and client expectations. This role involves managing the production process from concept to final print, focusing on quality checks, client communication, and project management.

Essential functions:

Conceptualize and design print layouts using graphic design software like Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and QuarkXpress. Ensuring designs are both aesthetically pleasing and functional. Apply print production knowledge to verify incoming client meet production specifications. Detect file issues and make recommendations. Communicate directly with the clients to explain artwork recommendations. Send proofs directly to clients for review and approval electronically or via courier. Review proofs, manage revisions, and oversee the final product to ensure it meets quality standards. Prepare card artwork for proofing and process proofing requests with printers. Follow up with printers to ensure timely delivery of data, artwork, and labels proofs. Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and managing timelines Stay updated with the latest trends in print design, technology, and printing techniques, particularly for plastic printing.

Competencies:

Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, Visual Arts, or a related field is preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in print design, with a strong focus on plastic printing, and a portfolio showcasing successful print projects. Experience with the full cycle of print production, including pre-press, proofing, and final print. Intermediate+ skill level with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, QuarkXpress, InDesign, Acrobat. Experienced in MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.). Experience with MAC O/S; PC knowledge is a plus. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Energetic and driven with a strong sense of urgency. Careful attention to accuracy and detail. Organized and process oriented. Ability to work independently and multi-task. An eye for design with a strong understanding of typography, layout, color theory, and fonts management.
