Overview We are seeking a full-time Printed Circuit Board Designer 1 in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for creating well-defined moderately complex Printed Circuit Board (PCB) designs based on schematics and input from Design Engineers. Essential Functions Partner with Product Design Engineers and Mechanical Engineers to produce moderately complex PCB Designs Provide feedback to Design Engineers as needed to ensure manufacturability is maintained in each design Suggest options when faced with challenging PCB Design situations Attend engineering design reviews and act on decisions made there Plan technical work and estimate completion times for PCB designs Serve as a mentor to PCB Design Assistant as needed Demonstrate full understanding and use of Garmin design standards and procedures Utilize a basic knowledge of PCB manufacturing processes Maintain a sense of urgency, commitment, and focus on the right priorities in each PCB Design Other Responsibilities Perform eCAD librarian duties as needed Basic Qualifications Associate’s Degree in Electronics Technology or related field OR a minimum of 2 years relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience Demonstrated ability to read schematics Demonstrated proficiency using personal computers and Microsoft Office applications Desired Qualifications Experience with Cadence Allegro Working knowledge of PCB manufacturing processes Working knowledge of all types of electronic components Working knowledge of electronic circuits theory of operation Garmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
