Printer Support Technician

Description
+ Install, configure, and repair a wide variety of printers, including laser, inkjet, multifunction, and thermal printers.
+ Perform scheduled maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, calibration, and replacing parts like printheads, fusers, and rollers.
+ Diagnose hardware and software malfunctions and determine appropriate solutions.
+ Provide technical support on printer connectivity and software-related issues (e.g., network setup, drivers, and printing software).
+ Maintain accurate records of service calls, parts usage, and customer interactions using service management software.
+ Educate customers on proper printer care, maintenance, and troubleshooting steps.
+ Collaborate with the service management team to prioritize and complete service orders efficiently.
+ Stay updated on new products, services, and best practices for printer maintenance and repair.
+ Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety guidelines, and environmental regulations.
Requirements
+ Proven experience in printer repair and maintenance, with a strong understanding of various printer brands (e.g., HP, Canon, Epson, Xerox).
+ Familiarity with network printing setups, including installation of print drivers, network printers, and troubleshooting connectivity issues.
+ Experience with basic hardware repairs, including fuser assemblies, rollers, sensors, and circuit boards.
+ Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose complex issues on-site.
+ Proficient with service management software and documentation tools.
+ Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients and provide clear technical instructions.
+ Ability to lift and move printer equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
Education and Experience:
+ High school diploma or GED; technical certification in printer repair is preferred.
+ 2+ years of experience in field service or technical support roles focused on printer technologies.
+ Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
