A baccalaureate plus three years of professional level experience in administrative services or agricultural operations. 2. A baccalaureate degree plus three years of experience in a correctional or penal institution with responsibility for the security, custody, rehabilitation or classification of offenders, one year of which must have been in a position at least equivalent in scope of responsibility and/or complexity of work performed to a Corrections Captain or Prison Enterprise Supervisor in State service. SUBSTITUTIONS: Six years of full-time work experience in any field may be substituted for the required baccalaureate degree. Candidates without a baccalaureate degree may combine work experience and college credit to substitute for the baccalaureate degree as follows: A maximum of 120 semester hours may be combined with experience to substitute for the baccalaureate degree. 30 to 59 semester hours credit will substitute for one year of experience towards the baccalaureate degree. 60 to 89 semester hours credit will substitute for two years of experience towards the baccalaureate degree. 90 to 119 semester hours credit will substitute for three years of experience towards the baccalaureate degree. 120 or more semester hours credit will substitute for four years of experience towards the baccalaureate degree. College credit earned without obtaining a baccalaureate degree may be substituted for a maximum of four years full-time work experience towards the baccalaureate degree. Candidates with 120 or more semester hours of credit, but without a degree, must also have at least two years of full-time work experience to substitute for the baccalaureate degree. A master's degree in accounting, business administration, finance, management, public administration, agribusiness, animal science or husbandry, or veterinary science will substitute for one year of the required general experienced. Job Distinctions: Differs from other Prison Enterprises job titles by the presence of responsibility for the regional management of the quality assurance program. Examples of Work Performs duties within a maximum-security compound and provides security over inmates in assigned areas. Plans and directs activities connected with the development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for processing materials into partially finished or finished material or products. Plans, organizes, and coordinates or directs work of subordinate employees and inmates. Responsible for production of products sold to numerous governmental agencies around the state. Develops and initiates methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating. Devises sampling procedures, designs forms for recording evaluation and reporting quality and reliability data, and writes instructions on use of forms. Complies and writes training materials and conducts training sessions in quality control activities. Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition, assess cost, and responsibility of discrepant material. Ensures that customer complaints are resolved in timely manner. Establishes programs to evaluate precision and accuracy of production and processing equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical facilities. Confers with Industries Director on purchases of raw materials and equipment needs. Conducts monthly safety meetings/inspections and submits safety reports to appropriate staff at Prison Enterprises Headquarters and maintains records of the same. May be required to relieve any subordinate under his or her supervision, operate industrial type equipment to produce products needed, or load raw material and finished goods to be transported to different locations throughout the state.
