Privacy Business Partner
Position Description:

The Business Unit Privacy Business Partner (BU PBP) is a member of the Global Privacy team responsible for the implementation of Global Privacy Program at BU level. The BU PBP acts as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for the assigned BUs. The BU PBP interacts with multiple team members in the Operations and other Business Partners to ensure CGI’s compliance with applicable data protection legislation.

This position can be based in any CGI office in the U.S., East Coast preference (hybrid model).

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Business Enablement
• Develop and maintain strong relationship with the relevant BU Leader(s) and their team members to make Data Privacy concepts understood and adopted as an everyday priority
• Support and propagate expertise on Privacy/Data Protection regarding client opportunities and Third Party engagements (incl. Data Privacy Risk Assessment)
• Propose solutions to help the assigned BUs meet their business objectives and be compliant with CGI Data Privacy Policy
• Support assigned BUs and other relevant stakeholders in the review of Privacy/Data Protection contractual commitments and requirements and provide relevant guidelines
• Ensure that assigned BUs process personal data of their stakeholders and any other Data Subjects in compliance with applicable data protection legislation
• Contribute to Data Privacy Tower activities related to Mergers and Acquisitions Program within the S/BU (if applicable)
• Review and approve assigned Non-Established Geography requests on privacy related matters
• Promote collaboration and synergy with other PBPs and Centers of Expertise, as well as other Corporate Functions Business Partners

Global Privacy Compliance and Audit Support
• Assume the role and responsibilities of Data Protection Officer (DPO) as defined by article 39 of the GDPR (or any other applicable legislation) for a country of the SBU, or liaise with relevant DPO to support CGI in required notification to the Data Protection Authorities/Regulators in case of Data breaches or any violation of the Data Protection legislation (as the case may be)
• Keep his/her independence, report and escalate as appropriate
• Support the implementation of the CGI’s Data Privacy Policy and Binding Corporate Rules (as the case may be) consistently across assigned BUs
• Inform and advise the assigned BUs and their teams about their obligations to comply with applicable data protection legislation
• Monitor and report on the evolution of Privacy Practices and Regulations impacting CGI and/or the assigned BUs
• Report on identified risks and non-compliance of the assigned BUs with the CGI Global

Privacy Program
• Monitor BUs compliance posture with CGI Global Privacy Program and any applicable local legislations
• Support ISO 27701 certification roll out amongst the assigned BUs (as applicable)
• Contribute to internal and external audits on data privacy related matters
• Contribute to provide guidelines and propose action plan to improve BUs compliance
• Manage and report on BUs Privacy metrics
• Review Data Processing Inventory entries and validate information entered by the assigned BUs stakeholders
• Support SBU PBP with Data Subject Requests (Data Subject Access Request, Right to be forgotten, etc.) management in the conditions provided for by law
• Support security incident management involving personal data and affecting the assigned BUs, recommend mitigation plan, monitor and report until resolution

Global Privacy Awareness
• Educate BUs members about Privacy/Data Protection compliance
• Raise Global Privacy awareness of BUs members
• Propagate Data Privacy expertise across the assigned BUs
• Advise on Privacy by Design and data retention requirements
• Promote Data Protection Authorities/Regulators best practices and recommendations at BU level
• Ensure implementation of Global Privacy trainings and communication materials within the assigned BUs

Other
• Comply with relevant SBU Data Privacy budget and ensure alignment with Global Privacy strategic business plan
• Remain knowledgeable on applicable (country/industry/local) standards, market practices, rules, laws and regulations
• Maintain Continuous Professional Development (CPD)
• Contribute to implement and maintain the Global Privacy Business Model

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with legal and technical expertise in Data Privacy related matters, or
• Minimum of five (5) years of directly related experience in privacy, data protection, security, risk management, auditing, quality and/or compliance disciplines

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $67,800-$118,700.”
