As a member of the Workplace Trust team, you will develop and implement privacy-focused access policies, create approval workflows, and evaluate permission requests to ensure compliance with privacy standards while enabling business operations. This includes engaging with multiple stakeholders across the enterprise to help ensure compliant outcomes.
Key job responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive policy-based frameworks that govern access permissions across Amazon's HR data systems. Your primary focus will be on creating and managing privacy approval workflows within our permission management tools, ensuring both security compliance and operational efficiency.
On a daily basis, you will evaluate and process permission modification requests from various teams, carefully assessing each request against established security policies and privacy requirements. This involves working closely with stakeholders to understand their access needs while maintaining robust security standards. You will serve as the key decision-maker in recommending and approving modified permissions, ensuring that access rights are appropriately granted while maintaining the integrity of our systems and applications.
The role requires a balance of technical expertise, policy development, and stakeholder management to create and maintain secure, efficient access management solutions.

The Workplace Trust mission is to strengthen workplace trust and create mechanisms that allow builders to deliver compliant outcomes while remaining focused on what their customers care about. We achieve this by influencing policy (Privacy, AI and Risk), simplifying requirements, and making it easy for builders to design, develop, and deploy systems that meet Amazon's high bar.
Basic Qualifications
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
- Experience in access management, IAM, or similar role
- Strong understanding of privacy regulations and security best practices
- Experience with permission management tools and workflows
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills for cross-team collaboration
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant certifications such as CIPT, CIPP, CISSP, CISM
- Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field
- Experience working in a global, large-scale, complex, and fast-paced environment
- Problem solver, able to troubleshoot issues independently or escalate when necessary; sense of accountability and sound professional judgment
