Role Summary
50 South Capital Advisors (www.50southcapital.com) is a boutique alternatives provider that enjoys the benefits of being part of a leading global financial services firm, Northern Trust. The private equity group makes primary, secondary, and direct co-investments in and alongside buyout, venture capital, and private credit funds on a global basis. The team has extensive experience investing in the industry and has been led by its founding partners since 2000.
The Secondaries Associate role offers the opportunity to work on the private equity investment team with a specific focus on evaluating, underwriting and executing secondary investments – including LP and GP-Led transactions, preferred equity, private credit, and other unique investments.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
Financial analysis and modeling in support of the firm's due diligence on transactions.
Attending investment diligence sessions and performing portfolio monitoring activities.
Industry and market research related to potential transactions.
Assisting with the preparation of due diligence materials and Investment Committee memorandums.
Supporting the closing process for new investments.
Assisting with business development and investor relations projects, such as maintaining marketing and quarterly performance presentations, creating industry white papers, and interfacing with the back office team.

The ideal Secondaries Associate candidate will have 1-3 years of prior relevant experience, such as investment banking, leveraged finance, transaction services advisory, management consulting, corporate finance, direct investing or secondary private equity experience.

Highly proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Bachelor's degree, with a major in business, finance, accounting or economics preferred.
Salary Range:
$80,800 - 133,400 USDSalary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
