JLL has a great opportunity to join our growing Retail Property Management Team at Union Depot in St Paul, MN.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Private Events Manager to oversee and optimize the Private Events division at Union Depot. This position reports to the General Manager and will be responsible for assessing current operations, implementing strategic improvements and leading the sales and coordination teams to drive growth and enhance overall performance. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in venue management, sales strategies and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct a comprehensive assessment of the Private Events division, analyzing current processes, department structure, performance metrics and client feedback.Create and execute a strategic action plan based on assessment findings, addressing any gaps, inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement across the private event division.Develop and implement strategies to increase leads, sales, bookings and overall revenue for the division.Review and build upon the standard operating procedures to improve efficiency and consistency across the division.Lead and manage the sales and coordination teams within the division, providing guidance, training and support to ensure high performance and client satisfaction.Personally manage all wedding sales, and any other event sales as needed, guiding clients through the entire sales cycle from prospect to contract execution.Lead interdepartmental coordination with operations, security, janitorial, parking, engineering and other pertinent divisions, to ensure seamless event operations, uphold venue standards and swiftly address any logistical challenges.Collaborate with Contract Administrator on the contracting process and certificate of insurance management for private event clients and vendors, ensuring all contract and insurance requirements are met.Establish and manage relationships and communication with exclusive catering partner, preferred vendors and industry partners.Collaborate with Marketing Manager to promote the Private Events division effectively and achieve goals.Oversee all Private Events collateral, materials and communications.Manage invoicing, budgets, forecasting, goals and financial reporting for the Private Events division.Stay current with industry trends and innovations to keep the venue competitive in the market.Assist with day of coordination on a limited, as-needed basis, for private and signature events.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree.Minimum 5 years of experience in venue management and event sales, with at least 3 years in a management role.Proven track record of increasing sales and improving operational efficiency in event venues.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and team members.Proficiency in event management software and CRM systems.Experience in budget management and financial reporting.Knowledge of current event industry trends, venue operations and best practices.Occasional weekend and evening availability.Ability to be on your feet for several hours.
