State Street’s is making a multi-year strategic investment in Private Markets and the Alternatives Product organization is looking for a business analyst with experience in Private Markets to support the development of new products for Private Equity clients. This role will report to the Private Equity Product Development Manager responsible for product development of Private Equity related capabilities, services and technology. The product offering includes front-office technology, traditional middle and back-office asset and fund administration, and transfer agency. The individual plays a key role in helping with the execution and roll-out of our product development program for Private Equity; and will work across our client facing, product, global delivery (operations), technology and Alpha teams. The role will have a voice in our overall private markets product and in helping to strengthen State Street’s position in the industry.
As part of our Private Equity Product Development team, the role will specifically work at the direction of the Product Development Manager, helping to create our development plans, manage development programs, coordinate requirements gathering, translating and participating in the agile development process, testing and roll-out of capabilities. The product and capabilities development work are expected to align with increasing our market share, closing product gaps to support client retention, client growth, and enhancing client experience.
The successful candidate must be highly organized, possess strong analytic skills, ability to operate independently, good communication skills and an ability to move seamlessly between multiple projects/implementations with changing client requirements. The role will include executing development work for clients specific implementations and as part of the broader private markets offering with all clients.
The role requires willingness to learn, collaborate across different operational and technology teams, perform analysis, develop business requirements (epics and stories) and operate as a product owner within an agile development process. Experience with Private Investments and asset servicing is preferred.
Responsibilities
Lead and/or perform the execution of specified Private Equity development programs, including partnering with other members of the client facing, product, global delivery (operations) and technology teams.
Help create assigned development plans, manage development execution, coordinate requirements gathering, translating and participating in the agile development process, testing and roll-out of capabilities
Facilitate program governance including compliance with policies, best practices, oversight of issues, risks, audit and compliance items in support of program reporting.
Participate as product owner or assigned role for agile development programs including organizing program, status tracking, execution status meetings, issue escalation/resolution, and communicating status to internal and external stakeholders.
Participate in development of transition plan to migrate new capabilities into our operating model; and addressing the administrative aspects of establishing the product or service offering
Develop a deep understanding of the current technology and operating models within State Street supporting and affecting Private Equity clients. This knowledge will increase your ability to create effective plans and execution of development.
Collaborate with other teams to share approaches, develop best practices and improve the teams' capabilities to successfully execute and deliver new capabilities or better serve clients.
Support annual product assessment, planning and funding prioritization activities as requested by Manager.
Support development of the Private Equity Product roadmap as directed by Manager.
Skills
Demonstrate strong understanding of asset servicing product and operational background or experience
Subject matter knowledge across Asset Servicing and Private Markets, specifically Private Equity and Alternative Fund Investments a plus
Highly organized, strong analytic skills, ability to operate independently and to move seamlessly between multiple projects/implementations with changing client requirements.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, written and oral.
Demonstrate strong project management and process transformation skills.
Ability to organize, prioritize, balance multiple tasks and manage time effectively.
Ability to facilitate project working groups, strong data gathering skills and requirements writing (epics and stories).

Experience
Minimum of 7 years of experience in investment operations, project management, client implementation and/or business analysis.
Knowledge of products and processes related to the financial services industry would be an advantage
Experience with business analysis in an agile environment is strongly preferred
Salary Range:
$80,000 - $132,500 AnnualThe range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
