Private Swim Instructor

Requirements

The Private Swim Instructor will provide private swim instruction primarily to adults from beginner to advanced level, but may also include some instruction for children. The instructor must have previous teaching experience, understand how to teach the “fearful adult swimmer”, enjoy helping clients improve their swimming ability and be enthusiastic, friendly, and positive. The position is part-time and involves evening and weekend hours- approximately 10 hours per week.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Provide swimming instruction to both adults and children with varying skill sets beginner to advance level.

Assess progress of student, and communicating plan future lessons.

Enforce water safety rules.

Work Interactions

This position provides a service to our Georgetown University students, faculty and staff as well as the local community. The position reports to the Director of Aquatics The work performed contributes to the revenue generated by Aquatics department.

Requirements and Qualifications

This person filling this position must have previous teaching experience with adult beginner, intermediate and advanced swimmers

CPR/AED First Aid Certification (preferred by not required)

Red Cross WSI (preferred by not required)

Engaging and professional approach

Self-motivated with passion for helping clients achieve their swim goals

Pay Range

The projected hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is: $37.80- $46.20. Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
