Summary

PRN Infectious Disease Physician – Moffitt Medical Group

Moffitt Cancer Center’s invites applications for a PRN Infectious Disease (ID) Physician to join the Department of Infectious Disease. We are a hybrid academic practice affiliated with the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine. 

 

Responsibilities: 

The PRN Infectious Disease (ID) Physician practices medicine within the scope of authority and privileges granted by Moffitt Cancer Center. The PRN ID Physician provides patient care under the auspices of Moffitt Medical Group, and serves as member of the academic medical enterprise; advancing the institutional mission of contributing to the prevention and cure of cancer. The position may span the clinical and research enterprise, and supports patient care, research, and education.  Clinical activities include attending on the Transplant Infectious Diseases (TID) inpatient consult service at Moffitt Cancer Center, outpatient clinics for both the immunosuppressed service and general ID.  The immunosuppressed service traditionally includes hematopoietic transplant recipients as well as chimeric antigen receptor therapy (CAR T) recipients.  Experience in TID-related research, medical education or antimicrobial stewardship is highly desirable.  Trainees that are on the TID team include medical students, physician assistant students, general ID fellows from USF MCOM, rotating ID fellows from local facilities as well as TID fellow(s) from Moffitt. 

 

Requirements:

Applicants should have MD, MD/PhD or MD/ Masters and have completed subspeciality or focused fellowship training in TID.

 

Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute is Florida’s only NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. We are expanding our faculty to meet substantial institutional growth. The Cancer Center comprises a large, 3 facility ambulatory care practice, a 206-bed hospital, with a 36-bed blood and marrow transplant program, 15 state of the art operating suites, a 30-bed intensive care unit, a high-volume screening program, and a basic science research facility.

 

The Chief will allocate the position’s effort between clinical, research, educational and administrative activities.
