Position Summary
Provides direct patient care based on individual need according to hospital policies, procedures and protocols, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and within the scope of the practice of the Certified Nursing Assistant, after initial orientation and completion of skills checklist. Performs all duties in a manner which promotes team concept and reflects the WVMC mission and philosophy.
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent.Current Certified Nursing Assistant License for the State of Oregon.BLS certification within three months and maintain as current.Non-violent Crisis prevention training within ninety days of hire.Experience as a nursing assistant preferred.Meets recertification and continuing education requirements according to level of certification and maintains certification without lapse.Essential Job Functions
Provides direct personal care under the supervision of the nurse within the scope of practice of the Certified Nursing Assistant.Completes all documentation within departmental requirements and timelines.Participates in the responsible management of all departmental/hospital resources.Assists with the completion of therapeutic basic level patient groups, as assigned by the Registered Nurse and based on the program schedule.Participates as a contributory member of the interdisciplinary team, including contributing to the wellness and maintenance of the overall unit environment.Maintains the safety of the patient.Assumes responsibility for meeting annual in-service requirements and ongoing personal development.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
