Proactive Maintenance Technician

Job Description

General Summary: Executes preventative work, CI projects, equipment moves and root cause analysis.

Essential Job Functions:
• Execute planned preventative maintenance activities.
• Provide feedback on preventative maintenance tasks and frequency to improve efficiency and equipment reliability.
• Support re-active maintenance team when required.
• Coach pro-active technicians on technical aspects of mechanical repair / electrical power distribution / controls.
• Provide servant leadership to the technicians on teamwork and customer service.
• Plan and execute continuous improvement projects.
• Supply maintenance planner with information needed to acquire parts and materials for CI projects.
• Review reliability performance trends and work orders.
• Facilitate discussion to understand root cause and formulate plans for preventative action.
• Comply with and support the health, safety and environmental programs, policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Job Specifications:
• High School Diploma with a minimum of 4 years of experience in a related field or an AS degree in a technical field with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field or a BS degree in a technical field.
• Discipline to observe all safety rules and work safely.
• Ability to service machinery in such a way to avoid damage to capital equipment, tools or products being produced.
• Ability to review engineering drawings for accuracy.
• Ability to troubleshoot electro-mechanical equipment and make repairs.
• Familiarity with parts and materials procurement (source identification and resourcing).
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
