Robert Half is currently seeking an experienced and skilled Litigation Paralegal for a job opportunity in our firm.
Start Date: February 2025
Duration: Ongoing (potential for permanent hire)
Location: On-site, Long Island, NY
Hours: 8:30am-5:30pm EST
Pay: $35/hour (on contract)
Responsibilities:
+ Conduct case research, including legal research, document review, and fact-gathering to support litigation strategy.
+ Assist in the preparation, filing, and service of legal documents such as pleadings, discovery requests, subpoenas, motions, and briefs.
+ Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are easily accessible and up to date.
+ Assist with the creation and management of trial binders, exhibits, and other trial preparation materials.
+ Coordinate and manage discovery, including e-discovery processes, document production, and deposition summaries.
+ Communicate and coordinate with clients, witnesses, court personnel, and opposing counsel on case-related matters.
+ Attend meetings, hearings, and trial proceedings as needed to offer direct support to attorneys.
+ Assist with case management and tracking critical deadlines through calendaring tools and systems.
Qualifications:
• Paralegal certification or relevant degree.
• At least two years of experience as a litigation paralegal.
• Knowledge of estate planning and probate matters, laws, and procedures, a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills, and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, legal research tools, and estate planning software.
• Outstanding organizational and multitasking ability.
Requirements
• Possession of a Paralegal Certificate or equivalent degree in law.
• Proficiency in Civil Litigation is mandatory.
• Ability to conduct legal research and draft legal documents.
• Familiarity with court filing procedures.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficiency in using legal software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
