Procedural RN N Day Surgery
**LOCATION: Baylor Scott & White Medical Center, Marble Falls TX** **DEPT: Day Surgery** **SCHEDULE: PRN** The Patient Population includes both adult and pediatric services. Service lines include general surgery, urology, Orthopedics, Podiatry, ENT, Ophthalmology, Gynecology, and Podiatry. We have 5 preoperative rooms, 8 PACU bays and our patient ratio in PACU 1:1 We provide surgical services to patients of all ages and due to our facility size, the RN will be cross-trained for preop, PACU, and Phase 2 roles and pre-admission testing. The facility is in the beautiful Hill Country. BSWH supports future growth and provides formal education opportunities with the Guild. Your job is to ensure patient safety and a smooth treatment journey. You'll help patients navigate treatment by understanding their needs and the healthcare system. **Essential Functions of the Role** + Performing thorough clinical assessments and prioritizing the needs of patients and their families. + Evaluating the quality and effectiveness of nursing practices and taking an energetic part in initiatives aiming to improve these practices. + Creating a therapeutic environment and handling pain management with the goal of promoting relief and recovery. + Developing personalized care plans that respect and consider each patient's unique differences. + Providing educational support to patients, their families, and healthcare team members along the continuum of care. + Working in collaboration with colleagues and the community to implement a well-rounded and integrated plan of care. + Making use of available strategies and resources to solve problems, utilizing a systems-thinking approach. + Contributing to the professional growth of peers and participating purposefully in community service opportunities. **Key Success Factors** + Comprehending nursing and patient standards and protocols is essential. + Effective communication abilities are required for liaising with varied stakeholders. + Problem-solving abilities coupled with critical thinking skills are compulsory. + An aptitude to note changes in medical conditions and communicate them efficiently is vital. + Providing patient-centered, quality care while respecting diverse human experiences is demanded. + Basic digital skills, such as using electronic health records and email, are necessary. **Belonging Statement** We believe that all people should feel welcomed, valued and supported, and that our workforce should be reflective of the communities we serve. **Qualifications** + Accredited program or (2) two years minimum, required for this position. + A major focus or specialization in Nursing. + Ideally, some relevant professional experience, though less than a (1) year would suffice. + Registered Nurse (RN) + Basic Life Support (BLS) or obtain within (30) thirty days of hire or transfer.
