Procedural Training Specialist

The Procedural Training Specialist is responsible for providing primary laboratory support to visiting health care professionals (HCPs) and Smith+Nephew colleagues attending surgical training at our Watford head office and training centre. The role works closely with out medical education teams to ensure our customers are set up for success when using our products.

What will you be doing?

Providing expert practical guidance to our clinical customers during courses, and when needed during customer education visits/minilabs.Communicating and demonstrating the use of surgical instruments and implants to improve the learning opportunities of internal customers (including sales representatives, R&D teams, marketing and sales training colleagues and executive level colleagues)Handling human tissue specimens in compliance with local guidance and the local governing bodies. Ensure cadaveric material is acquired, stored, used and disposed of in accordance with the HTA codes of practice.Responsible for all activities associated with the running of the laboratory and its maintenance (equipment upkeep, specimen care, control of consumables and PPE stock and general laboratory housekeeping duties such as regular deep cleans).

What will you need to be successful?

At least three years’ experience in a clinical, medical or laboratory environment.Experience of working with health care professionals, particularly in a surgical setting is advantageous. This is an ideal move to industry for someone with a nursing, ODP or other allied clinical background.Degree qualified (or equivalent experience)Awareness of health and safety precautions in handling biological materials.Experience of, or an interest in providing practical training.

Location: S+N Head Office in Croxley, Watford

Hours: Monday-Friday - 37 hours per week
