What you'll do:

The Mortgage Lending Procedure Writer will be responsible for developing, writing and maintaining comprehensive procedures for our Retail and Correspondent lending divisions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mortgage lending processes, risk management practices, and regulatory requirements. This role requires exceptional writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to translate complex information into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation.

What we are looking for:

Develop, write, and maintain detailed procedures for mortgage lending operations, ensuring clarity and compliance with regulatory requirementsCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including risk management, compliance, underwriting, and operations to gather information and ensure accuracy of proceduresIdentify and analyze potential risks within mortgage lending processes and incorporate risk mitigation strategies into proceduresConduct regular reviews and updates of existing procedures to reflect changes in regulations, industry standards, and company policyEnsure all procedures are accessible user-friendly, and effectively communicated to relevant stakeholdersProvide training and support to staff on the implementation and adherence to established proceduresStay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in mortgage lending and risk management

What you need to have:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related fieldMinimum for 5 years of experience in mortgage lending, with a focus on procedure writing and risk managementStrong understanding of mortgage lending processes, regulations, and risk management practicesException writing, editing, and communication skillsAbility to analyze complex information and translate it into clear, concise proceduresDetail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-past environment.Certified Mortgage Banker (CMB) or similar certification preferredExperience with procedure documentation software plusKnowledge of industry-specific regulatory requirements (e.g., CFPB, FHA, HMDA, etc.) preferred
