Process Application Support Technician

This person will also support the use of several custom product software applications used to support our product assembly and configuration operation. This role will also work closely with our process engineering team to ensure that all systems are operating efficiently to maximize production output. Typical job duties will be: + Quickly and efficiently diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair production manufacturing systems + Diagnose and troubleshoot desktop PC problems and repair or replacement as required + Diagnose label printer (Intermec & Zebra) problems and repair or replacement + Provide troubleshooting and programming support for RF guns and other peripheral devices used within order fulfillment + Create outage tickets or direct unresolved issues to the next level of support when escalation or specialized expertise is needed + Work with Pitney Bowes NetOps team to provide local network support when required + Provide technical support and guidance to manufacturing, process engineering, and local operations management + Work closely with corporate based software development team(s) to help deploy, troubleshoot, and correct issues + Test, label, and terminate CAT5/CAT6 communication cabling as required for infrastructure updates & modifications. + Assess, represent, and be the voice of the local manufacturing facility during network and workstation updates and infrastructure modifications + Monitor production equipment needs, manufacturing floor layout, production setup, and identify when new equipment and infrastructure should be considered. + Assist in the development of manufacturing workflow diagrams and identify opportunities to develop custom tooling, job aids, or processes to support manufacturing methods and techniques. Skills: + Adapts to and flexible to changing demands and goals + Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to quickly identify root cause of common problems and understands who to reach to for resolution + Strong collaboration with local operations and engineering team + Ability to comprehend and write technical documents + General knowledge of WIFI and Network communication protocols, Switches, Servers, & VLAN’s + Critical thinking & Quality consciousness + Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to create positive user experiences and to provide project status updates to upper management Requirements: + Proven work experience as a Tier 1 desktop support engineer or similar role + Hands-on experience working with Windows operating systems + Fluent with MS Office365 applications + Working knowledge of input and output devices such as handheld scanners and printers. + General knowledge and understanding of network security practices + Excellent communication, problem solving, and multitasking skills + BS degree in IT/Engineering.
