Process Characterization & Technology Engineer
Regeneron is currently seeking a Process Characterization & Controls Engineer to join ours Process Sciences Downstream Sciences department. This is a lab-based position with a Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm schedule with occasional off-shift/weekend work. Process Sciences is a technical services department that deals with a range of scientific, technical, engineering and mathematical needs from the laboratory to the manufacturing floor. They will provide characterization of manufacturing operations and/or technology through prospectively defined laboratory experiments. They may support all phases of projects from research and feasibility studies through implementation into commercial manufacturing processes. As a Process Characterization & Controls Engineer **,** a typical day might include the following: + Plan and execute experiments to generate data to increase process and material understanding, design control strategies, or determine root cause and impact of process non-conformities. + Analyze information and data from multiple sources to build conclusions related to process capability and understanding. + Author protocols, reports, and/or other technical documents with conclusions based on available process and product knowledge. + Ensure alignment of SOPs, Policies, and other internal documentation with industry and regulatory expectations such as ICH guidelines. + Maintain and improve labs, lab processes, and equipment. + Proactive communicator. Work effectively and efficiently in a team-oriented environment. Expected to interact and collaborate cross-departmentally. Self starter. + Apply engineering principles to the development and execution of process characterization and investigation studies. + Analyze data using a combination of statistics, engineering principles and other techniques to gain insights into manufacturing process performance and control. This role might be for you if you: + Are practiced in analyzing chromatography data at mfg. scale for column performance and troubleshooting anomalies. Transition Analysis experience is desirable. + Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities, having the innate ability to balance multiple projects, prioritize them and execute them independently, while excelling at keeping all impacted parties appropriately informed. + Are excited for advanced process understanding through process modeling such as Mechanistic Modeling. + Can take on new and sometimes ambiguous challenges and learning quickly. + Are motivated to advance manufacturing performance, controls, and ease of manufacture. + Understand antibody manufacturing processes. To be considered for Process Characterization & Technology Engineer you must be willing and able to work Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm and occasional off-shit/weekend work. You must have a BS in Engineering; chemical engineering is preferred. For various levels you must have the following: + Associate Process Characterization & Technology Engineer: 0-2 years of relevant experience + Process Characterization & Technology Engineer: 2+ years of relevant experience + Sr. Process Characterization & Technology Engineer: 5+ years of relevant experience Level is determined based on qualifications relevant to the role.
