MISSION / SUMMARY:

The Manager of Process Control Engineering provides leadership to the team supporting a large Pulp and Paper Mill at our Macon, GA Mill.

 

JOB FUNCTION: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.

Manage installation/modification of process control system software and application software. Manage the Information Technology process of the whole facility including break/fix, systems, and large IT projects Work with operating departments to meet IT needs and implement control strategies for new process equipment. Modify/enhance controls/IT on existing equipment; work with maintenance/operations personnel to identify and resolve problems with equipment to keep the process within availability and quality KPI limits.  Develop improved methods for new capital investments, cost reduction and process control equipment. Assist in preparation of budgets and standards for cost measurement. Provide leadership with the implementation of problem solving strategies and execution of key performance objectives. Create, implement, and monitor local KPI’s for department.  Use six sigma and lean processes to implement process improvement projects to optimize equipment and reduce downtime. Liaison with other department managers to optimize mill production and alignment of process controls system with all improvement initiatives. Foster employee engagement initiatives. Encourage a behavior-based safety process.

 

BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:

Eight (8) years’ experience in Process Control/IT. Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Control Systems (PLC).  Experience with instrumentation and electrical systems associated with Process Control Systems. Manage department projects associated with re-instrumentation and DCS/PLC installations.  Experience in supporting operations group on a day to day basis. Experience with IT Hardware and Software. Windows 2000/XP – MS Office (Word, Excel, Access etc.)

 

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

BS in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Computer Engineering.

 

SPECIFIC SKILLS:

DSC experience with Honeywell TDC or Experion or other Open System (i.e. Delta V) Installation and configuration of Allen Bradley PLC; DCS/QCS Service Management Communications networking and training – network design and configuration. Ethernet TCP/IP – routers, hubs, switches etc.; Client/Server and database application implementation.

Pay Range:   $101,840.00 - $135,755.00
