JOB TITLE: Process Control Engineering Manager

Axalta has a need for a Process Control Engineering Manager who will lead a team (3-5) of process control and electrical engineering professionals in performing a variety of duties such as the following:

Provide technical leadership and hands-on support for the design, operation, maintenance and continuous improvement of instrumentation and process control systems (DCS and PLC).Champion and implement process and control improvements that will increase the ability to meet customer demands and improve business competitiveness.Work closely with line leadership, technical and manufacturing resources, operators, and mechanics to understand the business and site needs.Provide instrumentation and process control expertise for manufacturing areas in technologies like Distributed Control Systems (DCS-Batch), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), IP21 data historian, and interfaces with various IT technologies and systems.Work with site PSM lead and Site SIS Guardian to understand site Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) requirements. Assist in the development of Safety Interlock Specifications for any Safety Instrumented Systems designed for the site. Assist in the development of a site standard for safety PLCs.Provide tactical level automation and process control services to business in support of top line growth, asset effectiveness, improvement programs, and capital projects.Work on project and process teams to realize the objectives of technical programs and projects involving automation and process control technology.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.Minimum 10-15 years of industrial plant Engineering experience.5+ years of process control experience specific to configuring, documenting, and troubleshooting digital control systems including DCS and PLC.5+ years PSM industry alignment.Proven success leading a team.Travel required: approximately 5-10%.Strong troubleshooting proficiency.Hands-on experience with Rockwell PLC's and Bailey DCS preferred.Process historian background with Aspen Tech InfoPlus.21 an added plus.Excellent interpersonal skills to teach and be a resource. Able to communicate high-level process control concepts to various functions.Collaborate across teams to reconcile differences. Comfortable assuming role as peer with operators, maintenance staff, and engineers.Self-motivated and proactive work ethic. Strong sense of accountability to complete work independently and through influence.
