As a Principal in Product Performance Engineering, you will be responsible for developing and implementing corrosion protection strategies for our clients' refining facilities.

As a Downstream Chemicals Process Corrosion Specialist, you will be required to:

Develop and maintain domain expertise in corrosion and corrosion control for downstream chemical processesDesign, test, and implement corrosion protection solutions for refineriesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute project plans, including design, installation, and testing of corrosion protection systemsProvide technical guidance and support to clients on corrosion protection and management practices via written reports and direct customer interface Stay up-to-date on industry developments and best practices in corrosion and corrosion controlParticipate and lead internal training classesTravel up to 20% of the time

To be successful in this role you will need:

A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field 5+ years of experience in corrosion engineering, chemical processing, or related field Strong knowledge of corrosion damage mechanisms in the refinery, corrosion mitigation strategies, and refinery operationsExcellent technical writing and communication skills Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Additional Desired Characteristics:

Experience in formulating and testing corrosion inhibitorsExperience with metallurgical analysis for failed material(s)Proficiency in the use of commercial process simulation software (e.g., PRO/II, HTRI) and a working knowledge of electrolyte modeling / simulation
