Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Process Development Engineer for our location in Irving, TX. The successful candidate will possess practical and theoretical knowledge of flow cytometers and cell sorters and be capable of working independently. This role requires the ability to operate analytical flow cytometers and independently manage cell sorters. Experience with Luminex Bead-based assays is a plus.
ResponsibilitiesWork with a cross-functional team to uncover, understand, and translate business needs and challenges.Increase reliability, improve efficiency, and review design alternatives/components to reduce the overall cost of the system/sub-systems.Ensure requirements are fully understood and that implementation plans match expectations by collaborating with internal and external teams, including developers, architects, quality assurance, operations, and regulatory.Operate as our Flow Cytometry expert by addressing incoming questions about the product and its capabilities, assessing, and addressing technical risks.Serve as a product and subject matter expert.Support the Design Change Request process.Facilitate and participate in the creation and maintenance of proper product documentation.Essential SkillsPractical and theoretical knowledge of flow cytometers and cell sorters.Ability to operate analytical flow cytometers such as Imagestream MKII, Fortessa, and Aurora.Independent operation of cell sorters like BD Influx, BD FACSAria, or Sony MA900.Experience performing Luminex Bead-based assays and protocols.Mechanical engineering, process development, medical device experience.Design Transfer, Design of Experiments (DOE), Design for Manufacturing (DFM).Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.5 to 10 years of relevant experience with a BS degree or 5 years of relevant experience with an MS degree or equivalent education and experience in Engineering and Sciences.Solid knowledge of general engineering/science principles and laboratory skills.Good understanding of various manufacturing processes to support the Design for Manufacturability (DFM) initiative.Strong knowledge of defined development processes that are consistent with ISO, FDA design control standards or requirements.Knowledge of design controls and risk management practices.Work Environment
The position is based in Irving, TX. We offer 2 weeks of PTO and 11 paid holidays. The role involves working with advanced technologies and equipment in a collaborative and innovative environment. The facility maintains a professional dress code.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $55.00 - $60.00/hr.
