You will develop, analyze, and advise fleet size procurement for all VO production launches and create streamlined processes for fleet analytics.
The successful candidate must have a passion for automobiles and manufacturing and can develop cross-functional solutions to complex problems. Packaging Design & Planning engineers lead Ford in 3D CAD and PLM capability and can rapidly generate vehicle design alternatives to solve packaging and material flow challenges. Our engineers have a strong attention to detail and the ability to retain intricate details, from memory, across several programs. You must be willing to maintain a can-do attitude with very limited inputs and use deductive reasoning and industry trends to develop accurate forecasts for early milestones.

Identify, forecast, and optimize capital spending for capacity studiesWork extensively with Packaging Engineering, Material Flow Engineering, Material Logistics, Stamping, FCSD, Product Development, Capacity Planning, Finance, VO Plants, and Penske to achieve robust fleet analyticsDrive improvements in sourcing strategies and network design to achieve freight and Investment Efficiency objectivesWork as a team with Container Management to right size fleets based on loss, attrition, and process efficiency objectivesDevelop robust interdepartmental processes to ensure alignment on NAML Freight Objectives and Packaging deliverables Create and maintain an internal database management system for fleet sizes, offering opportunities for quick what-if studies and improved transparency, visibility, and process efficiency
