Process Engineer
Job Description

Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Bay City GPS on a full-time basis.

The Role:

As a Process Engineer your work will be of a technical nature with decisions made within the limits of general practices, policies and standards.  The work involves complex manufacturing problems including the need to troubleshoot equipment and follow issues to resolve.  Responsible for equipment related to the manufacturing process.  May involve training others and assigning work to a small group of employees.

Promotes, educates, communicates and follows up on safety initiativesParticipate in PFMEA, IPPM and TIP meetingsAnalyzes and implements product or machinery designs for best method for manufacturing processes  Manufacturing technical support Continuous Improvement driven in all aspects of ManufacturingProposes and evaluates the processes for equipment in assigned area  Directs the design, development, and/or improvement of manufacturing processes for assigned area Regular contact with others outside the work group Provides direction to small group of technical employees May evaluate or monitor expenditures for processes and/or equipmentStrong technical knowledge and ability in process engineering disciplinesStrong knowledge and ability to implement GMS/Lean Manufacturing principlesDemonstrates initiative by reaching beyond work assigned to improve output and/or help othersStrong ability to problem solve manufacturing issues for corrective actions and provide cross shift communicationsThis position is an off shift manufacturing engineering production support opportunity

Additional Job Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

Must be able to work an off-shift (2nd or 3rd)2+ years of manufacturing experienceEngineering degree from ABET-accredited university OR equivalent experienceAbility to work weekends and overtime on an as needed basis

5 or more years of manufacturing experienceMaster's Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or similar
