As a Process Engineer, you continuously improve overall performance of our Injection Molding Department, with a focus on preform production.  You play a critical role in Garland’s achievement of plant targets, including operational excellence & product quality.

You Will

Conduct detailed data analysis to determine root cause of product defects & machine failures to develop corrective actions & implement process changes.Establish new preform & mold qualifications, as well as monitor mold cavitation to identify & implement corrective actions where needed.Identify & propose process improvements for reductions in energy consumption.Contribute to ISO standards adherence within the Conversion department by developing and delivering training.Collaborate cross-functionally to develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.

You Have

A Bachelor’s degree in plastics technology, electrical, electronics, electro-mechanical or another related discipline.Minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment.Working knowledge of process improvement tools & methodologies, such as Kaizen, 5S, statistical analysis methodologiesPrior experience documenting work processes.The ability to work in confined spaces, at heights of 15’ to 20’, as well as to lift 40 lbs. continuously and 70 lbs. with assistance.Flexibility to work in a 24/7 operation
